Please click on the following links to view the contents in our Slide Shows Photo Albums via photobucket:This year’s photo video is dedicated to German Hernandez who lost his battle with cancer shortly after we completed the Ride. He rode many miles with us and his dedication to this mission was unwavering. After over 10 years of dedicated yearly rides Across America; German made one of his last rides to Barstow, California in May to see us off. We had the honor of Marine SSGT Tim Chambers joining us this year. Tim, a Marine, stood at attention at each of our stops as names were read of fallen soldiers, sons & daughters of the state we were in at the time, who served in Iraq & Afghanistan, These names were read a final time at the conclusion of our ride, in unison, at the WWII Memorial. We had volunteers, including the National Gold Star Mothers of America, Blue Star Mothers, Veterans and even tourists visiting the site, each taking a list of names we provided and standing at one of the states or territories around the WWII Memorial. There is no memorial for this current mission and will not be for many years to come. We felt it important to remember NOW that our freedom is an on going fight, which has affected millions of the children family and friends of those lost. With your support we will continue to do this each year as the current list grows and has begun to grow even faster. Special thanks to our event hosts and generous donations across the country. This year because of you we were able to donate $12,500 to “Operation Camp Purple” a program sponsored by the National Military Family Association who have established a camp for children whose mother or father are going through multiple deployments, disability and loss. We also donated 100 T-shirts to the “Wounded Warrior’s” program and 200 T-shirts to “Operation Stand Down”. Riders seek a sponsor or cover the trip cost out of their own pocket (to DC and back home) at an estimated cost of $2,500 to $3,500 not counting the ever-present wear, tear and mechanical problems. There is no price on what each rider takes home. Thank you for your continued support. Linda Elkins (Faith Rider) Vice Chairman, Carry the Flame
